Sports Reporter :
President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nazmul Hassan Papon said, ” We need to find out the conspirators.” The BCB boss disclosed his opinion after the cricketers of Bangladesh went on strike for their 11-point demand from Monday last.
Papon spoke at a press conference at the Media Conference Room in the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium,
Mirpur on Tuesday.
The National Cricket League (NCL) got underway and the India series is knocking at the door.
Papon thinks that the strike is a part of conspiracy. He said he would disclose the reason behind the conspiracy as soon as possible.
BCB boss said, ” Some plotters are trying to blot out the country’s cricket. If the cricketers do not tour India, image of Bangladesh’s cricket will go down. So, the strike is a part of conspiracy.”
He said, ” The cricketers can express their demand to us. If they told us their requirement to us, we would have responded.”
Papon added that most of the players did not know the red reason of strike. He also added that they had been taking part in the strike without knowing the actual motive.
Papon said, ” Two or three cricketers know the actual plan. They are trying to show that we don’t do anything for them. If they decide not to play, we have nothing to do.”
He also said, ” It seems that the players are successful. They have spoiled the image of the country.”
Papon said, ” The coaching camp for the incoming India tour will be start soon. The India series will be held according to the scheduled time.”
He said, ” The door is open. They could come to us and express their demand. But they didn’t do that. Even we could not get them over telephone.”
” They have access not only to me but also to the Prime Minister. If they had anything to say, they could speak, Nazmul Hassan said. It may be mentioned that the cricketers announced the strike holding a news conference in presence of Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and other top cricketers.
Their 11-point demand includes immediate resignations of President and General Secretary of Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB), reversing the BCB’s decision to abandon the franchise-based model and lifting the salary amount in National Cricket League (NCL) and Dhaka Premier League.
