Noted Tagore artiste Papia Sarwar is going to be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. She will receive the award at a function titled Noyonmoni Sangskritik Sondhya which is to be arranged by Shuvechchha Sangskritik Forum at the National Museum in the capital on November 22. Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel MP will distribute the award as the chief guest. Papia Sarwar confirmed this yesterday.
Though Papia Sarwar is a Tagore artiste but she became popular to render a song titled Nai telephone nairey peon nairey telegram. While sharing her feelings to get the Lifetime Achievement Award she told this correspondent, “To get recognition of works, is always a delightful matter. When I get any honour I think it is the result of my works. I am grateful to the organizers who will give me the award.”
Today is Papia Sarwar’s birthday. While talking about her birthday she said, “On birthday, I do not like gathering. Along with my family I always want to pass the day. This year it will be happened. Everybody pray for me.”
