Palestine face Sri Lanka in Bangabandhu Gold Cup tie today

Tournament favorite Palestine will face Sri Lanka in their second and last group A match of the sixth edition of Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football tournament scheduled to be held today (Friday) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
State-owned Bangladesh Television , private satellite channel RTV will telecast the match live while Bangladesh Betar will provide live commentary of the match that kicks off at 5 pm.
The defending champions Palestine will take to the field with an upper hand following their 2-0 goals victory over host Bangladesh in their tournament opening match held on Wednesday last and they must be looking forward to seal the semifinal by winning the match against Sri Lanka.
Palestine assistant coach Fahad Aten earlier said they are very happy to win the first match and hopes to maintain the winning spree in the remaining matches.
On the other hand, it would be a tough challenge for Islanders as they must have to play something extraordinary to beat strong Palestine. Sri Lanka will play their next match against Bangladesh on Sunday (January 19).
Sri Lankan football team’s manager Colonel Pathmanathan earlier termed his team are balance side and hoping to give a good fight in the tournament.
He said though the present team lost to Nepal U-23 team last month but now the boys are more organized and upbeat to give their best effort in the tournament.
