First Test: Pakistan score 342/3

Pakistan scored 342 for the loss of three wickets in the first innings against Bangladesh on the second day of the first Test match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
Earlier, Bangladesh made 233 in the first innings on the first day (Friday).
Pacer Abu Jayed gave his team early breakthrough as opener Abid Ali (0) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Liton Das off Abu Jayed when Pakistan’s score was just two runs.
Then Shan Masood and Azhar Ali repaired the damage adding together 91 runs for the second wicket partnership before Azhar Ali was caught by Najmul Hossain Shanto off Abu Jayed when the hosts’ total was 93 for the loss of two wickets.
After Azhar’s dismissal, Shan Masood and Babar Azam put on together 112 runs in the third wicket stand before Shan Masood was trapped leg before wicket by leg-spinner Taijul Islam when the home side’s score was 205 for the loss of three wickets.
Masood hit a marvellous 100. He hit 11 fours in his 160-ball innings. It was Shan Masood’s 3rd Test century.
After departure of Masood, Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq added together 137 runs for the unbroken fourth wicket partnership.
Babar Azam remained unbeaten with 143. His 192-ball innings saw 19 fours and a sixer.
It was Babar’s fifth Test century.
Asad Shafiq remained unbeaten with 60 runs. He hit eight fours in his 111-ball knock. It was Asad’s 27th half-century in Test cricket.
Azhar Ali made 34 from 59 deliveries featuring four fours.
Promising Abu Jayed bagged two wickets at the cost of 66 runs, while Taijul Islam got one wicket conceding 111 runs.
Today the third day’s match starts at 11.00 AM BST (Bangladesh Standard Time).
