AFP, Dhaka :
Pakistan’s leg-spinner Yasir Shah was on Thursday ruled out of the upcoming one-day series against Bangladesh, a third injury setback for the tourists in the past two weeks.
Shah, 28, needed three stitches on his left thumb after being hit during a practice match on Wednesday ahead of the first of three one-day internationals in Dhaka on Friday.
Team manager Naved Cheema told AFP that a replacement for Shah will be named shortly, but it was unclear if the leg-spinner will be available for the subsequent Test series.
Shah played just one match in the recent World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, conceding 60 runs without taking a wicket against India before being ignored for the remaining games.
The leg-spinner has taken 27 wickets in five Tests and two wickets in two one-dayers since his debut in 2011.
Two other World Cup squad members, Sohaib Maqsood and Sohail Khan, were earlier ruled out of the tour with injuries.
Pakistan are to play three one-day internationals, a solitary Twenty20 game and two Tests on the month-long tour of Bangladesh.
