The Pakistan government has cleared its cricket board to go ahead with a full series in Bangladesh.
The tour is scheduled to include two Tests, three ODIs and a Twenty20 starting from Apr 15.
“Government is still concerned, probably because of the negative feelings about Pakistan there,” PCB’s senior media manager Raza Kitchlew told ESPNcricinfo.
The Pakistan Cricket Board always wants to keep the game ‘away from politics’ and thus the tour was accepted, he said.
“But in coming days we will send our security team who will be meeting the Pakistan high commission to further assess the arrangements in place,” he further added.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said, “We have received confirmation of Pakistan’s arrival in mid-April.
“The tour schedule has not been confirmed yet but we are hoping to have it finalised in the next 3-4 days. We will consider Dhaka, Chittagong and Khulna as venues.”
He said security would be arranged regarding the City Corporation elections in Dhaka and Chittagong on Apr 29.
Yunus, however, did not think it will affect the tour.
The PCB had demanded 50 percent share of the revenue to be earned in the series which the BCB turned down and consequently put the series in doubt.
BCB chairman Nazmul Hassan, however, agreed to bear the entire cost of the tour, giving Pakistan a fair reason to agree upon.
