Pakistan declare 1st innings at 300/4 Bangladesh trail by 224 runs

Pakistan declared their first innings making 300 runs for the loss of four wickets against Bangladesh on the day 4 of the 2nd Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Tuesday.
In reply, Bangladesh were at the stumps at 76 for seven.
Bangladesh trailed by 224 runs in the first innings.
Bangladesh faced a disaster as they lost their early seven wickets for 71 runs.
Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy (0) was caught at the slip by Babar Azam off Sajid Khan when Bangladesh’s score was 1.
Shadman Islam, the other opener (3) was caught at the point by Hasan Ali off Sajid Khan when Bangladesh’s total was 20 for the loss of two wickets.
Second-down Mominul Haque (1) was unfortunately run out by a direct throw of Hasan Ali when Bangladesh’s score was 22 for the loss of three wickets.
Third-down Mushfiqur Rahim (5) was caught at the midwicket by Fawad Alam off Sajid Khan when the home side’s total was 31 for the loss of four wickets.
Fourth-down Liton Das (6) was caught & bowled by Sajid Khan when Bangladesh’s score was 46 for the loss of five wickets.
First-down Najmul Hossain Shanto was trapped leg before wicket by Sajid Khan when the hosts’ total was 65 for the loss of six wickets. Shanto made 30 from 50 balls featuring three fours.
Sixth-down Mehidy Hasan Miraz (0) was bowled out by Sajid Khan when Bangladesh’s score was 71 for the loss of seven wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan remained unbeaten with 23 runs, while Taijul Islam remained unbeaten with naught.
Right-arm spinner Sajid Khan bowled extremely well. He finished his superb spell as 12-3-35-6.
Earlier, Pakistan resumed their first innings with the overnight score of 188 for the loss of two wickets.
Babar Azam and Azhar Ali resumed their first innings with the overnight score of 71 and 52 runs respectively.
Azhar Ali could add more four runs on the fourth day as he (56) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Liton Das off Ebadot Hossain when Pakistan’s score was 193 for the loss of three wickets.
After Azhar’s dismissal, Babar Azam could stay at the crease for a short period as he (76) was trapped leg before wicket by pacer Khaled Ahmed when Pakistan’s total was 197 for the loss of four wickets.
After Babar’s departure, third-down Fawad Alam and fourth-down Mohammad Rizwan added together 103 runs for the unbroken fifth wicket partnership before Babar Azam declared their first innings.
Fawad Alam remained unbeaten with 50 runs. He hit seven fours in his 96-ball innings. It was Fawad Alam’s 2nd half-century in Test cricket.
Mohammad Rizwan remained unbeaten with 53 runs. His 94-ball knock saw four fours and a sixer. It was Rizwan’s 6th half-century in Test cricket.
Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain took one wicket each for 49 and 88 runs respectively. It was Khaled Ahmed’s maiden Test wicket.
