Majority of the government, semi-government and private institutions have completed their preparations for celebrating 69th Independence Day to express love for the dear homeland.
The celebrations express feelings of the people for the country which they secured after rendering countless sacrifices of land, money and life of their dear and near once. Besides official arrangements people have also decorated their homes with bunting, hoisted flags and illuminated walls and roof of their residential territory.
Children have also decorated their vehicles with different size of flags and
bunting. They have also pledged to fight all odds and stand united against internal and external enemies. Electronic media would telecast special programmes, while print media would publish special editions on the day highlighting the major achievements of national heroes, besides importance of independence for living a free, prosperous and happy life.
Bookshops have displayed special books at discounted prices on the topics of history, sacrifices of freedom fighters and achievements, past, present and future challenges of the country, contributions of national heroes and eminent personalities to acquaint general public with their services. The themes are mostly based on inculcating the spirit of pursuing their goals and inspirations to achieve their dreams besides using their abilities in a positive way.
Portraits of national heroes would be placed at prominent places of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. School and colleges would hold speech and national songs competitions, present special tableaus on patriotism, love for nation and forging unity for national interest.
