Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka observed “Kashmir Black Day” on Thursday (26th October) in the Chancery to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir in
their just struggle for the right of self-determination, said a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Rafiuzzaman Siddiqui highlighted the atrocities perpetrated by Indian forces against innocent men, women and children of Jammu and Kashmir, he added that the martyrdom of Burhan Wani on July 8 2016 infused a new zeal of struggle for freedom in the new generation of Kashmir. It was India which took the Kashmir issue to the UN Security Council and Indian leaders had given a pledge to the international community, Pakistan and the UN that they would give the Kashmiri people their right of self -determination, but this promise was never fulfilled, he said.
Highlighting Pakistan’s position on the Kashmir issue, the High Commissioner said that Pakistan will continue to extend its moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their right of self-determination.
