Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bengali New Year was celebrated in different districts amid festivity. Various organization chalked out programmes on Monday. Our Correspondents and agencies reports:

Bangla Nabobarsho 1421 was celebrated with much enthusiasm in Rangpur on Monday.
Different government and non-government organizations chalked out various programmes on the occasion. Different socio-cultural organisations and NGOs took part in the programmes.
The officials of government and non-government organisations brought out a colourful procession in the morning that paraded the main roads of the town.
Traditional Bengali food like ‘hilsa fish’ and ‘panta’ rice was served among the people. Folk dance and song competition was held at local Public Library premises.
Later, a discussion meeting was also held at the same venue. Jala porisoid proshasok Jaunto kumar addressed the discussion meeting as chief guest while Divisional Commissioner of Rangpur Delwar boakt,was present as special guest. Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Farid Ahamad presided over the discussion meeting. Political leaders, Educationist also attended the discussion meeting. And public Works Department happy bangli New Year 2021 , chief Engineer Abdur Razzak, Executive engineer Bahadur Ali also attended the discussion meeting.
Besides, Rangpur district administration arranged a two day-long Grameen Baishakhi fair on the premises of Rangpur town holl a total of 36 stalls were installed at the fair.
Chapainawabganj Correspondent adds:Pahela Baishakh was celebrated amidst festivity in Chapainawabganj.
A colourful rally led by law maker of Chapainawabganj sadar constituency Md. Abdul Wadud was taken out from the deputy commissioner’s office premises in the morning. Deputy commissioner Sardar Sarafat Ali, Chapainawabganj sadar upazila chairman Md. Ruhul Amin and police super Bashir Ahmed also participated in the rally.
Different offices and organizations like Chapainawabganj district administration, Committee of the Concerned Citizen (CCC) of TIB, Proyas Manobik Unnayan Society, Green View School, Homohan Government Girls High School, and Chapainawabganj Government Girls High School, Udichi Shilpi Goshthi were among the participants.
Thousands of people carrying banners, festoons and idols of various animals along with palki, cattle cart took part in the rally. The rally visited the main roads of the town and ended at Green View School.
A five day long Baishakhi Fair was also arranged on the Horimohan Government High School premises.
Chapainawabganj Sadharan Pathagar arranged a cultural function and Kabigan (poetic song) on the pathagar premises in the evening. Keramat Ali and Abdur Razzaq took part in the poetic song.

District administration and many others organisation here chalked out separate programmes to mark the day. The programmes includes Baishakhi mela, colourful rally, distribution of sweets, folk festival, cultural function and feeding of Panta Bath with fried hilsha fish for entertainment of the guest,
Narsingdi district administration arranged three day Baishakhi mela with cultural funcxtion on the occasion to celebrate the Baishakh at the Moslah Uddin Stadium here
Deputy Commissioner Obaidul Azam formally inaugurated the function as chief guest with Assistant Deputy Commissioner (General) Soraia Begum in the chair. While Assistant Deputy Commissioner (Ravi) Md. Kamal Hossain, NDC Mahabobol Korim and Narsingdi Sadar upazila Nirbahi officer Banisa Roddrix.
Shamsuddin Ahmed Exak Music Academy also arrange a week long Baishakhi Mela and cultural function to celebrate the Baishakh under the Banyan tree of Arshi Nagor in the town.
Police Super Narsingdi Dr. Khondakar Mohaid uddin formally inaugurated the function as chief guest.
While farmer MP Rokeya Ahamed Laky, farmer principal of Narsingdi Govt callege Muhammad Ali, farmer principal Golam Mustafa Miah, Principal Amdul Kadir Mollah city Collage Dr. Mosiur Rahman Mirdha. Prof Nurjahan Begum, were present as special guests.
Harnnor Rashid son of late MP Shamsuddin Ahmed Esak and president of the Esak Music Academy Presided over the function.
About 55 stalls have been set up in the mela which is open to all every day 2pm to 10 pm.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bengali New Year-1421, was celebrated in the city and its adjacent areas though a daylong diversified colourful programmes on Monday with a festive mood and enthusiasm.
Ignoring sultry weather, children, youths, men, women and activists of the sociocultural, voluntary and professional organisations wearing traditional dresses came out on the streets after sunrise to welcome the Bengali New Year.
Besides, hundreds of men, women and children, in traditional colourful clothes, thronged Rajshahi College playground, Fudkipara open stage and Shishu Academy and other venues especially the bank of the river Padma for celebrations of the event.
The programs of the day were heralded in the city by
Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) at Fudkipara Open Stage at dawn where a daylong barshabaran festival has been kicked off.
Mayor of RCC Mosaddique Hossain Bulbul inaugurated the festival as the chief guest and served panta bhat among cross-section of people.
Marking the celebration, Rajshahi district administration arranged a colourful rally titled “Mongal Shovayatra” from Collegiate School premises. After parading some of the city streets, the rally turned into a cultural function and Boishakhi Mela at the Shishu Academy.
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Helaluddin Ahemd opened the event as chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury in the chair.
