Barishal District Administration has organized various events on the occasion of inaugurating Padma Bridge.
The inauguration ceremony of Padma Bridge has turned into a festival in the district.
A colorful procession was brought out from circuit house of the city on Saturday. This eye-catching procession is one of the biggest processions in Barishal division.
The procession started from the Circuit House moved around the main roads of the city and ended in front of the Shilpakala Academy, Barishal.
Barishal Divisional Commissioner Amin-ul Ahsan, Range DIG SM Akhtaruzzaman, Deputy Commissioner Jasim Uddin Haider, Acting Commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police Proloy Chisim, Superintendent of Police Maruf Hossain, Deputy Director of Local Government Shahidul Islam along with high officials of district and divisional administration and police, freedom fighters, teachers and students, employees of different government and private departments, workers, political leaders and cultural activists were participated in the programme.
Later, an exhibition and discussion on the inauguration ceremony of the Padma Bridge was organized at the Shilpakala Academy, Barishal.
On the other hand, a colorful procession on city roads was also organized by Barishal District Police at around 10 am.
Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent reports : On the occasion of inauguration of Padma Bridge, various programmes were organized by Ishwardi Municipality on Saturday. The programmers including rally, and discussion meeting .
Municipal Mayor Ishaq Ali Malitha presided over the discussion. Performed by Executive Officer Zahurul Haque. At the same time, the Municipal Mayor said, the Padma Bridge made by our own fund in a single decision has raised our pride and honour worldwide. Bangabandhu’s daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken herself to a unique height of leadership by giving the keynote of realizing that dream.
Municipality Panel Mayor Abul Hashem, Councilor Firoza Begum, Yusuf Ali delivered the keynote address. All the councilors, officers and employees were present on the occasion.
Sherpur (Bogura) Correspondent says: A colourful joyous festival of the inauguration of South Padma Bridge has spread to Sherpur upazila of Bogura, the gateway of the North. This joyous festival was jointly organized by Upazila Administration and Upazila Awami League on Saturday. Leaders and activists had been gathering in front of the party office at the local bus stand with banners and pistons since morning.
Then Upazila Awami League President advocate Golam Farooq and General Secretary Sultan Mahmud led a joyous rally.The rally encircled important roads of Sherpur upazila town.Next the discussion meeting was held.
Munshi Saiful Bari Dablu, Vice-President of Upazila Awami League, other leaders of the party Mohammad Ali Montu, SM Hafizul Islam, Elias Uddin Mintu, Awami League leader Shahjamal Siraj Siraji, Sarwar Rahman Mintu, Golam Hossain, Maqbool Hossain and others spoke. A large number of leaders of the Awami League and its affiliated organizations took part the rally.
Besides, the inauguration of Padma Bridge and the speech of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was shown in the meeting room of the council on behalf of the Upazila Administration as well as a pleasant cultural programme was organized. Moinul Islam (UNO) presided over the function. Students of various educational institutions,officials and employees of government and non-government organization and people of various professions were present the meeting.
Tarash (Sirajganj) Correspondent adds: On the occasion of the inauguration of the dream Padma Bridge at Tarash in Sirajganj, various programs have been carried out on the initiative of Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad Sontan Command on Saturday morning. The various programmes were held in the Hall of Tarash Model Government Primary School on the occasion of the inauguration of the dream Padma Bridge . Various programmes were organized under the chairmanship of Khalilur Rahman, President of Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad Sontan Command. Notable among these are the inauguration of the dream Padma Bridge by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through digital multimedia broadcasting, discussion on party functions, games, cultural programmes and lunch.
Among others, Upazila Awami League Co-President and District Council member Hosne Ara Parveen Lovely, Mahila Awami League President Monowara Khatun Mini, Municipal Awami League Convener Abdul Razzak, Muktijoddha Sangsad Sontan Command Co-President Hosneara Nasrin Dolan, General Secretary Georgias Milon Rubel, Joint General Secretary Tofazzal Hossain Sohag, Organizational Secretary Abul Kalam, Action Secretary Samir and many others were present there.
