Chief of the monitoring cell of municipal elections in 10 pourahavas of Chittagong and Advisor to the BNP Chairperson Mir Mohammad Nasir Uddin said, victory of BNP nominee in the coming poura elections in Chittagong is the first step of restoring democracy in the country.
Mir Nasir disclosed it at the first meeting of the constituted Monitoring cell for poura election by the central committee held at DaliaKunga , Chatteswari road in city on Friday evening.
He said defying all sorts of threats from the ruling partymen , the leaders and activists of the party should work in the field and to clinch victory of the BNP nominee by casting votes in favour of paddy sheif and he also term it as a challenge of the BNP against repression by the ruling party.
He also called to all BNP activists, supporters and well-wishers to work unitedly for the better interest of the party.
The meeting also reviewed the law and order situation of the country. Among others, Convenor of North District BNP Ln Aslam Chowdhury, President of South District BNP Jafrul Islam Chowdhury, members of monitoring cell SM Fazlul Hoque, AM Nazimuddin, Abu Sufian, Shamsul Alam, Dr. shahdat Hossain, Kazi Abdullah al Hasan, Engr. Belayet hossain , Md. Kamaluddin Prof. Younus Chowdhury were present on the occasion.
