Four warehouses burnt down in a jute mill at Odhirnagar in Bera upazila on Tuesday as a fire erupted from an oil tank blast at the factory.
Fire service officials said the fire broke out as an oil tank of ‘Bengal Jute Mills’ near the warehouses suddenly blasted around 12.00pm and it soon engulfed the warehouses.
On information, four firefighting units from Bera and Sadar upazilas of Pabna and Ullahpara and Shahjadpur upazilas of Sirajganj rushed in and doused the blaze after three hours of frantic efforts.
