Prof Dr Sir Walter Bodmer, Head of Cancer and Immunogenetics Laboratory of Oxford University, UK called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman at the latter’s office of the University, says a press release.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interests. DU VC Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman informed Prof Dr Sir Walter Bodmer that many DU young teachers are pursuing higher studies at different reputed universities in UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and other countries under Bangabandhu Overseas Scholarship program. He also apprised him of holding a gala event next year at a suitable venue in London marking the founding centenary of Dhaka University where one of the honorable member of British Royal Family is expected to be present as Chief Guest.
Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman thanked Prof Dr. Sir Walter Bodmer for visit to Dhaka University.
