Manikganj Correspondent :
A headmaster has been accused of hiring teachers at Oxford Academy in defiance of a court order. The headmaster of the institution claimed that he had not received a copy of the court’s injunction. However, the headmaster himself became a plaintiff and appealed to the High Court against the lower court’s verdict in the case.
It is learned that Rekha Rani Dutt has been working as an assistant teacher of Hinduism at Oxford Academy for 22 long years. The Private Teacher Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) recommends that a teacher be recruited for the post if the headmaster is requisite for hiring an assistant teacher for Hindu subjects even though there is no vacancy.
As a result, Rekha Rani Dutta, a current teacher, applied to the court for a temporary restraining order. In view of this, on February 14, the High Court issued a six-month ban on the appointment of Assistant Teacher (Hindu) in Oxford Academy.
Rekha Rani Dutt, a teacher currently working as an assistant teacher (Hindu), said that headmaster Abdul Matin harassed me in various ways and did not complete the task of enrolling me in MPO on purpose. He is making various excuses and procrastination without giving me the part of my salary due from school.
He repeatedly sent letters of demand to the NTRCA with the intention of dismissing me. With this I applied to the High Court for restraint. In the light of that application, the Hon’ble High Court granted my application for restraint.
But the headmaster Abdul Matin disobeyed the court order to dismiss me and hired an assistant teacher. Oxford Academy headmaster Abdul Matin said: “I have not received a copy of the court order. However, teachers of Hindu religion have been appointed in accordance with the rules. I can’t talk about it anymore.
In this context, the convener of the ad hoc committee of Oxford Academy, Md. Hafizur Rahman Khan said, “I did not know about sending new demand letter for the post of teacher of Hindu religion along with NTRCA.” When I found out about it, I sent a letter of recommendation to NTRCA to stop the recruitment. District Education Officer Rebecca Jahan said, “There is a case pending in the court. I cannot comment on the matter.” The court will decide what to do.
