A workshop of Bangladesh Metal Workshop Federation followed by rally was held at Nasimon Bhaban office of BNP on Saturday evening with BNP Labour Affairs Asstt. Secretary AM Nazimuddin as Chief Guest.
Labour leader Md. Ali presided over it . General secretary of BNP City unit of Chittagong Dr. Shahdat Hossain presented keynote paper.
The chief guest in his deliverations asked the owners of the metal workshop to refrain the workers from the risk bearing works and called the owners to provide all necessary equipments to the workers for saving themselves from any unwanted incidents in the workshop.
He further said if any accident occurred in the respective metal workshops, the owners will remain liable for that and should provide all expenses of the treatment if any worker fall sick during work time. Among others, Sramik Dal leader Nurullah Bahar, General Secretary of City Sramik Dal Nazrul Islam Sarkar, Hawkers Sramik Dal leader Jasimuddin, CCC Sramik Dal leader Saiful Alam , Construction Sramik Dal leader Nurnabi, Nirman Sramik Dal leader Altaf, were present in the workshop, sources said.
