A mobile court during a drive on Wednesday has fined owners of 11 brick kilns Taka 7, 40, 000 for violating environmental laws and constructing other unlawful structures polluting the environment.
The district administration with assistance of the Environment Department, Forest Department,Fire service and Police conducted the mobile court at the 11 brick kilns in Pakundia upazila of Kishoreganj.
The mobile court led by Executive Magistrate and AC land of Pakundia Md.Lutfur Rahman imposed the fine on the owners and managers of the 11 brickfields located at different areas in Pakundia upazila.
The mobile court also seized fire wood from the brickfields during the day long drive.
Pakundia ACland & Magistrate lutfur Rahman said that The 11 brick kilns were fined under Brick Manufacturing and kilns Installation Control Act -2013.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Kishoreganj Abdullah al Masud told the New Nation that the aforementioned brick kilns were fined for illegally manufacturing bricks by procuring the top soil from agriculture land.
