3 more bodies found: Owner, staff of capsized `ML Oishi` sued

Police on Friday filed a case against the owner and a stuff of ‘ML Oishi’ which capsized in Sandhya River in Banaripara upazila on Wednesday.
Three more bodies were also recovered on Friday. So far, 26 bodies of the capsize victims have been recovered while two passengers still remain missing. Sub-inspector Banaripara Police Station M Jasim filed the case against ‘ML Oishi’ owner Yusuf Ali and its staff M Nayan for plying the unfit launch on the river without any route permission. However, both of the arrestees are at large till the filing of this report at 4pm. Earlier, the launch with 50-60 passengers on board sank in the river in Banaripara upazila as a heavy chunk of mud from the erosion site on the riverbank fell on the vessel just after it reached Dasherhat Launch Terminal around 11:15 am on Wednesday.
Of the deceased, divers retrieved 16 bodies from the river while another victim died at a hospital on Wednesday. Besides, 9 other bodies were recovered from the river the salvaged launch on Thursday.
