UNB, Dhaka :Overseas jobseekers now can register their names with the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) filing online forms from anywhere in the country.Overseas jobseekers, including those interested to avail of jobs in Saudi Arab, will be able to register with BMET visiting the webpage www.bmet.govt.bd even sitting at home.Besides, the jobseekers can apply to get registered through union parishad offices and all field-level offices of BMET, said a notification issued by the Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry on Thursday. The notification came in the wake of huge crowd of overseas jobseekers at the Probashi Kalyan Bhaban in the capital’s Eskaton Garden who came from across the country to register their names with the BMET.Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain said the registration is an ongoing process. “So, there’s no need to hurry for jobseekers to go to any country. Anyone can apply online for getting registered with BMET from anywhere in the country,” he told UNB.Those who were registered with the BMET earlier do not need to register their names afresh, the minister said.People from across the country started crowding the Probashi Kalyan Bhaban to register their names with the BMET as the government signed an agreement with Saudi Arab on Tuesday to send Bangladeshi workers to the Gulf country under 12 categories, which will pave the way for sending at least 10,000 Bangladeshi workers every month at ‘zero cost’.
