About one lakh students have applied to the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry for reexamination of their results, claiming that justice will be established if the authorities work properly.
Some of students who failed in the examination alleged that they did not get pass marks due to the negligence or mistake of the teachers and others.
The DPE sources said, the students who sat for the Primary Education Completion Examination last year were asked to apply for revision of their results between December 15 last year and January 30 this year.
The DPE will re-evaluate the answer sheets centrally with the assistance of the District and Upazila offices.
Senior System Analysts of the DPE Engineer Anuj Kumar Ray said, the DPE completed the application process successfully. “The revised results of applications is expected to publish in the first week of March,” he said.
“A total of 95, 691 students have applied for revising their results. The number was 79, 709 last year,” he said.
“The answer sheets of the applied students will not be re-evaluated, but the number which was given by the examiners will be recounted. If any mistake is found, then new number will be set up,” Anuj Kumar Ray said.
The DPE officials said, the students mostly applied to revise their results in Bangla, English, Mathematics and General Science.
