Around 9,400 school children, both boys and girls are receiving life-building skills and support that will help them flourish their physical and mental development.
The children including 5,400 girls age group from six to 14 are getting the privileges through 17 socialization centres under a three-year project titled “IKEA Good Cause Campaign”.
‘I Play, I Learn and I’m Safe’ was the main theme of the project.
The project is being implemented in two wards of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and two pourasavas and three unions under Godagari upazila in the district. Association for Community Development (ACD) is implementing the project in association with Save the Children.
ACD staffs revealed this while addressing a daylong annual workshop of the GCC at Godagari Pourasava conference hall in the district on Wednesday.
Pourasava Mayor Monirul Islam, Panel Mayor Munira Begum, Social Service Officer Md Rasheduzzaman and Women Affairs Officer Sharmin Shapla addressed the meeting as guests of honour.
The meeting participated by all stakes discussed elaborately on how to work together to support vulnerable children for reducing unsafe migration.
In his concept paper presentation, Soroj Kumar Biswash, Monitoring and Documentation Officer of ACD, said the project intends to prevent unsafe migration and advance the rights of children on the move to protection,education and play.
He details aims, activities and implementation strategy of the project that ,means to transform the children into worthy citizens through multidimensional approaches.
The meeting was told that 4,500 parents, 150 public representatives and 140 teachers are being imparted need-based training so that they can create and ensure congenial and convenient atmosphere for the children.
RAKUB officers asked to demonstrate e-filing skills Senior bankers asked their subordinates to show their professional skills on-e-filing during discharging duties as it is essential for attaining success in the present banking sector for overall socio-economic development of the region.
They urged them to make their banking activities client-friendly so that they get total benefits of the banking service.
They were addressing the closing and certificate-giving session of a three- day long training workshop on ‘e-filing programme implementation’ in Rajshahi on Sunday.
Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) organized the training at its Computer Laboratory in association with ICT Cell of Financial Institution Division in the Ministry of Finance.
RAKUB Managing Director Kazi Alamgir addressed the session as the chief guest with Principal of its training institute Towhida Khatun in the chair. General Managers Khandaker Golam Mostofa and Rakibur Rahman Khandaker, Deputy General Manager Ashoke Kumar Acharya and Programmer Suman Anwar Mahmud
also spoke.
The speakers observed that the bankers should have adequate knowledge on computer and ICT applications for enhancing their professional efficiency in modern banking sector together with making the e-filing system effective and meaningful.
They mentioned that no bankers can attain professional success without knowledge on fundamental computer literacy and its proper applications.
Large-scale application of ICT is also important towards making the banking transactions and other services transparent, time-fitting and client- friendly in the present era of globalisation, they added.
