As a part of humanitarian aid, around 6, 54, 01,554 people have already received relief assistance from the government amid COVID-19 pandemic.
“More than 6.54 crore people of over 1.48 crore families so far have received relief assistance from the government across the country,” said an official handout here on Wednesday.
To mitigate the people’s hardship during the corona situation, the government is continuously providing aid to people and 1, 70,071 tonnes of rice out of 2, 01,417 tonnes have already been distributed among the beneficiaries, said the release citing the 64 district administrations.
In addition to this, more than Taka 79.26 crore out of Taka 91.13 crore so far has been disbursed among the distressed people as the government has allocated more Taka 116 crore cash for distributing among the destitute.
Nearly 14 lakh people have received baby food worth of Taka 21.24 crore out of 25.54 crore allocated for purchasing baby food, it said.
