Over 3,500 tourists return from middle point of Naf River

Over 3, 500 passengers on Monday came back from the Naf River due to the inclement weather.
The Teknaf Upazila Administration instructed the St. Martin’s bound launches not to go to the island as the weather was not favourable.
MV Greenline-1, MV Atlantic Cruise, MV Farhan, MV Keyari Cruise, Keyari Sindabad, Bay Cruise and LCT Kazol launches started their journey with more than 3,500 passengers to the St. Martin’s Island in the
Bay of Bengal at 9am on Monday. The launches got stuck in the middle of the River.
On information, the Teknaf Upazila Administration asked them to return from Teknaf with the passengers to avoid any untoward incident.
Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Rabiul Islam said, the launches authorities have been asked to come back. “We have taken the decision for security reasons only,” he said.
“We have also asked them to return the money which was taken from the tourists for tickets,” the UNO said.
