As many as 154,905 doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been allocated for the port city dwellers.
The remaining 301,095 doses of Covid-19 vaccine will be distributed among 14 upazilas under Chattogram. The Covid-19 vaccines will be sent to the upazilas with the arrival of On February 7, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury will formally inaugurate the inoculation program at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
On January 31, a total of 456,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine reached Chattogram Civil Surgeon office. Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said the authorities had taken all-out preparations to roll out the vaccines from February 7.
“The syringes will reach Chattogram within one or two days. The vaccines will be sent to the upazilas from February 5. The nurses and the health workers have already received necessary training,” said the civil surgeon.
Of the upazilas, 15,524 doses of vaccine will be sent to Anwara, 25,541 doses to Banshkhali, 13,372 doses to Boalkhali, 13,965 doses to Chandanaish, 31,525 doses to Fatikchhari, 25,876 doses to Hathazari, 16,776 doses to Lohagara, 23,896 doses to Mirsarai, 31,651 doses to Patiya, 20,317 doses to Rangunia, 19,349 doses to Raozan, 16,967 doses to Sandwip, 23,062 doses to Satkania, and 23,244 doses will be sent to Sitakunda.
The vaccines are kept at the EPI store. A total of 42 teams have been assigned to administer the vaccines.
