Over 12 lakh children to be fed vitamin A plus capsules in dists

Around 3 lakh babies in Faridpur will be fed vitamin ‘A’ capsule during the National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign scheduled to be held at December 11-14.
A total of 2,95,181 babies aged between 6 to 59 months will be administered vitamin -A Plus capsule, Civil Surgeon Dr Siddikur Rahman told a press conference held at Faridpur General Hospital on Sunday.
The campaign will be conducted under the auspices of Public Health and Nutrition, Institute of National Nutrition Service under the Ministry of Health and Family Planning with assistance of UNICEF.
One lakh babies aged between 6-11 months will be fed blue color capsule while two-lakh children aged between 12-59 months will be fed red color capsule.
The programme will be conducted in 1991 centres in the district.
A total of 947 field level health workers and 3,982 volunteers will be deputed for administering the capsules properly.
Dr Rahman humbly urged all concerned to make the campaign successful in the district.
District Senior Information Officer Shamima Nasrin and Faridpur Press Club Secretary Moshiur Rahman Khokon, among others, were present at the press conference.
Staff Reporter, Kishoreganj says: Civil Surgeon Office in Kishoreganj has completed all preparations to immunise over 496930 children aged between six months to 59 months, with vitamin A Plus Campaign, from December 11 with hygienic conditions.
Of these, 56,340 children aged 6-11 months will be fed one blue capsule and 4 lakh 36,590 children aged 12-59 months will be fed one red capsule.
This information was given at the Journalist Orientation Workshop on the occasion of National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign at Kishoreganj General Hospital Conference Room on Wednesday morning.
Civil Surgeon(CS) and Deputy Director ( DD) Dr. Mujibur Rahman informed, the children would be fed vitamin A capsules in a total of 2,844 centers of 343 wards of unions and municipalities in 13 upazilas of the district.
A total of 6,699 people, including health department officials and employees and volunteers will work for this.
Deputy Director (DD) in Kishoreganj General Hospital Dr Md..Helaluddin, Senior Information Officer Shamsul Haque, and Deputy Civil Surgeon (DCS) Dr.Mostafigur Rahman were also present as special guests.
BSS from Rangpur reports: Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) will feed 1,27,500 under-five age group babies of the city with Vitamin A Plus capsules in the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign (second round)-2021.
Chief Executive Officer of RpCC Md. Ruhul Amin Miah disclosed the information at a press conference held at City Bhaban on Wednesday before the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign (second round)-2021 from December 11 next in the city.
The campaign will be conducted under the auspices of the Public Health and Nutrition Institute and National Nutrition Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Planning with UNICEF assistance.
Panel Mayor of Rangpur Md. Shamsul Alam, Chief Health Officer of RpCC Dr. Kamruzzaman Ibne Taz and Sanitary Inspector Abdul Kaiyum attended the event Around 19,500 babies (6-11 months) and 1,08,000 babies (12-59 months) will be administered with one dose of one lakh units of Vitamin A Plus Blue capsule and one dose of two lakh units of Vitamin A Red capsule each respectively.
“We have also completed preparations to administer Vitamin A capsules to the under-five babies at the immunization center of RpCC, bus stands, rail stations and other places in the city,” Miah said.
He said there are no side effects to Vitamin A capsules and a child with a full stomach should be given Vitamin A capsules as immunization with an empty stomach, might cause nausea.

BSS from Bhola adds: A total of over 2.79 lakh under-five age group babies will be immunised with vitamin A Plus capsules during the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign-2021 from December 11 to 14 in the district.
Civil Surgeon Dr KM Shafiquzzaman on Wednes+-day disclosed the information while addressing an orientation workshop with journalists on the occasion of Vitamin A Plus Campaign held this afternoon in the hall room of the District Civil Surgeon’s Office.
The campaign will be conducted under the auspices of the Public Health and Nutrition Institute and National Nutrition Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Planning with the assistance of UNICEF.
 District Information Officer Md Nurul Amin, president of Bhola Press Club and freedom fighter M. Habibur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
According to the civil surgeon, the program will run from 8 am to 4 pm in 10 permanent centers and 1660 temporary centers in 7 upazilas of the district from December 11 to 14.
A total of 41,012 volunteers and immunization workers and 310 health assistants are ready for this.
Of these, 33,392 children aged 6 months to 11 months will be given one blue capsule and 2 lakh 45,770 children aged 12 to 59 months will be given one red capsule, he added.
