The health authorities in Bangladesh on Monday inoculated over 117,000 people against the contagious Covid-19 disease.
Altogether 117,148 people were administered their first dose of the vaccine on the day. Of them, 72,358 were men and 44,790 were women, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With Monday’s inoculations, the health authorities have so far administered vaccine doses to 3,906,500 people across the country. Of them, 2,493,211 were men while 1,413,289 were women. People aged 40 years and above now can get registered to receive Covid-19 vaccines, the health ministry sources said.
11 of Monday’s vaccine recipients experienced mild side effects. Till now, side effects in 859 people have been recorded.
Meanwhile, 37,967 people received Covid-19 vaccine in Dhaka division, followed by Chittagong division with 19,568 vaccine recipients.
Additionally, a total of 21,047 people received vaccine in Dhaka city on Monday.
The inoculation would be administered among people in government hospitals up to upazila level while 5,136,474 people got them registered till 5.30pm on Monday.
