A conference on technological innovation opened Saturday in Hangzhou, capital city of east China’s Zhejiang Province, attracting more than 10,000 young participants from across the world, reports Xinhua.
The three-day non-profit event, organized by Hangzhou Yunqi Science and Technology Innovation Foundation and supported by many volunteers, aims to serve as a platform allowing youths to share their insights into technology and the future.
Meet-ups, forums, and displays of tech achievements in various fields, including artificial intelligence and aerospace, as well as cultural activities, will be held during the “2050 Conference.”
“Technology is not just a tool. It is like sports and music, which can bring people together,” said Wang Jian, the foundation’s founder.
“The time has come for China to make important contributions to the world, and the task will definitely be done by the youth,” said Wang, who is also technical committee chair of e-commerce giant Alibaba.
