Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a long-drive arrested a youth from Merul Badda in the capital on Tuesday night in connection with recent hacking of over 1000 facebook accounts,
The youth was identified as Mahmudul Hasan, 20, student of 4th semester of Computer Science and Engineering Department of East West University.
DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Muntasirul Islam said this in a press briefing at the media center in the capital on Wednesday morning. He was picked up by a team of detectives from a house in Merul Badda.
“Mahmudul hacked the accounts of young and beautiful girls being an expert in key-logging program. He used to collect the personal photos and information from the accounts and ‘blackmail’ them. by taking the chance of weak points of the victims, the police official said. He used to chat with the victims by creating new account and exchanged the colleted photos and other information, the DC said.
He hacked over one hundred pass words of different Facebook accounts, specially the girls, whose husbands had stayed abroad, the police official said.
The arrested youth is being interrogated in this connection, he said.
