An ‘outlawed party’ leader was chopped to death by miscreants at Bhainapara in Ataikula upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Hossain, 35, a regional leader of the banned Purba Banglar
Communist Party and son of Mostafa Bepari of the area. Quoting locals, officer-in-charge of Ataikula Police Station Abdur Razzak said a group of miscreants took Ibrahim to a mango orchard of Bhainapara village around 12:30pm and hacked him with sharp weapons, leaving him dead on the spot. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
