Head Coach of Bangladesh National Under-15 Football team Mostofa Anwar Parvez said, ” Our team will reach at least semi-final of the SAFF Under-15 Championship.”
Parvez spoke at a press conference at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Sunday. Deputy Chairman of Professional Football League Committee Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, General Secretary of BFF Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, Coordinator of Coach Education Jobaer Nipu and Captain of Bangladesh National Under-15 Football team Md Jehad Hossain also spoke at the conference.
Parvez said, ” Our players have been taking part in an intensive coaching camp for a month. The team played two practice matches against BKSP and Under-18 squad of Saif Sporting Club.”
Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir said, ” There are some players in our team who played in the Pioneer Football League, which concluded recently. The players had started their practice session at Khulna on July 13 before took part at the press conference.”
Jehad said, ” We shall try to retain our championship. Our team are good side. Hoping that we shall bring a good result.”
The 30-member Bangladesh Under-15 Football Contingent will leave the city on August 16 for Nepal to take part in the SAFF Under-15 Championship, scheduled to be held from August 18 to August 27.
A total of six teams splitting into two groups will take part in the SAFF Under-15 Championship.
Defending champions Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka have been billed in Group-A, while India, Nepal, Maldives have been placed in Group-B.
Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka on August 18 and then face Bhutan on August 22.
The champions of the Group-A will take on the runners-up of the Group-B in the first semi-final on August 25, while the champions of the Group-B will meet the runners-up of the Group-A in the second semi-final on the same day.
The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final on August 27.
