The officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station died of cardiac arrest while trying to quell clashes between two groups of auto-rickshaw workers at Goalabazar here on Wednesday. Quoting doctors, additional police super of Sylhet Nazmul Hasan said OC Mustafizur Rahman died at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital around 3:45 pm following a heart attack at Goalabazar. Hasan said Mustafiz and his force rushed to Goalabazar when the clash broke out between two groups of auto-rickshaw workers around 1 pm over setting up a new auto-rickshaw stand. At one stage of chase and counter-chase between police and auto-rickshaw workers, Mustafizur fell sick and was rushed to the Osmani Medical College Hospital where he died, he said. – UNB, Sylhet
