Vice Chancellor of International Islamic University Chittagong Prof. Dr. AKM Azharul Islam said English knowledge helps enhancement of professional and personal life in all aspects and it opens door for higher education across the world. He disclosed it while addressing the orientation programme of English Language and Literature (ELL) on Spring Semester of Masters(Priliminary and final ) students on Monday at a city posh hotel as Chief Guest.
Head of English Language and Literature (ELL) Department Sazzadul Karim presided over the programme .
Pro-Vice Chancellor of IIUC Dr. Abu Bakr Rafiq and IIUC Trust Member and Acting Chairman of Board of trustee Mowlana Mominul Hoque Chowdhury was present as special guests . Former chairman of the Department of English, University of Chittagong Prof. Chowdhury Mohammed Ali and Prof. Jahangir Bin Sarwar attended the semester program as guest speakers. Deen of Business Studies Prof. Dr. Farid Ahmed Sobhani delivered the address of welcome in it.
Among others, coordinator of ELL masters program and assistant professor Md. Azizul Hoque also spoke in it. On behalf of the freshers of Master Programme of ELL Ziauddin Bablu and Tanzin Sultana spoke in it. Teacher of ELL department Yousufuddin Khaled Chowdhury conducted the programmes.
Chief Guest in his brief deliberations emphasized the acquiring knowledge for building life a perfect way and the the significance of knowledge is unlimited.
Money and wealth may be snatched away but knowledge never be snatched .Pro-VC of IIUC Dr. Abu Bakr Rafiq without English knowledge none can achieve the desired goal with the global competitions. He also said English is also essential in the field of employment. Special guest and Acting chairman of Trusty board of IIUC Mominul Hoque chowdhury also addressed in it, a IIUC release said.
