“Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh”, the first maritime specialized public university of Bangladesh organized an orientation programme for Master’s students on its campus recently . The Vice-Chancellor of the university Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while the Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Governance and Policy (FMGP) Commodore M Ziauddin Alamgir presided over the occasion.
As a part of the expansion of educational activity of the University, new courses in Master in Maritime Science, Master in Maritime Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Master in Marine Biotechnology were introduced.
At the orientation programme, the students of 4th batch of Master in Port and Shipping Management and LLM Maritime Law, the 2nd batch of Master in Maritime Business were present along with the students from the newly opened courses.
In his speech the chief guest expressed his hope that, students graduating from this university will contribute to materialize the “Vision 2041” and “Blue-Economy Policy” of Prime Minister through maritime research in the large maritime border as well as building their own career as skilled maritime professionals at home and abroad.
Later the students were provided guidelines about the administrative management, discipline, security and environment of the university. Treasurer, Registrar, Teachers, Officers and Staffs of the university were also present at the programme.
