Jatiya Garhasthya Mahila Sramik Union
A rally organised by Jatiya Garhasthya Mahila Sramik Union was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in observance of International Day Against Violence on Women. In the programme held recently the leaders of the union demanded formulation of law to stop violence on domestic helps immediately. They also demanded to form inspection team to review the state of domestic helps for ensuring their welfare. The function was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the union Murshida Akhter Nahar, labour leader Abul Hosain, domestic workers’ leaders Setara Begum and Shaheena Begum, leader of garment employees Alamgir Roni and youth leader Manik Hawlader. The leaders of the union called upon all to be united against the repression on women domestic workers at home and abroad.
