Down Syndrome Society of Bangladesh
To observe the Down Syndrome Awareness Month a seminar organised jointly by Down Syndrome Society of Bangladesh, DU Communication Disorder Department, Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital (JBFH) and the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia, Bangladesh was held at R.C Majumder Auditorium of the Dhaka University on Monday. In the programme the speakers said “Down syndrome was not a disease rather a genetic disorder and people suffering from it should be treated with extra care and compassion”. A rally was brought out on DU camps marking the programme where children, teachers, parents with Down syndrome took part. The function was addressed, among others, by DSSB Chairman Sardar A Razzak, JBFH Chairman Sardar A Nayeem and Managing Director of Neuro-Developmental Disabilities Protection Trust Moshiur Rahman. Communication Disorder Chairman Hakim Arif presided over the event.
