Bangladesh Hawkers Union
A rally organised by Bangladesh Hawkers Union was held in front of Victoria Park in the city’s Sadarghat on Wednesday. In the programme the leaders of the union urged the authority concerned to stop eviction of hawkers. They also demanded rehabilitation of hawkers before eviction and formulation of national policy for hawkers’ management. The funcion was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the union Sekendar Hayat, its Organising Secretary Mohammad Jashim Uddin, President of the union, Kotwali thana unit Abdul Quaiyum, Member Secretary of Sramajibi Shilparaksha Andolon Harunar Rashid Bhuiyan, Organising Secretary of Bangladesh Krishak Samity Zahid Hossain Khan and Vice-President of Bangladesh Chhatra Union Depak Shil. President of the organisation Abdul Hashim Kabir presided over the event.
