Bangabandhu Smrity Charcha Kendra
A discussion on ‘Bangabandhu O Bangladesh’ organised by Bangabandhu Smrity Charcha Kendra was held at Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of the Jatiya Press Club marking the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day. In the programme held on Wednesday the speakers recalled the contributions of Bangabandhu with due honour. They also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul of Bangabadhu and his other family members who were killed in August 15 carnage. The speakers also demanded to bring back fugitive killers of Bangabandhu. The function was addressed, among others, by former minister Tofail Ahmed and former founding president of the organisation Engineer Shah Abdul Mosabbir. President of the kendra Shah Murad Hossain presided over the event.
Bangladesh Awami Cultural Forum
A rally organised by Bangladesh Awami Cultural Forum was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club. In the programme held recently the leaders of the forum demanded execution of verdict pronounced against the masterminds of the 21st August grenade attack in front of Awami League office in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue and killing. President of the forum Sheikh Shahinur Rahman Uzzal presided over th event. The function was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the forum Azizul Haque Arzu, its Vice-President Mujibar Rahman, Cultural Secretary Farzana Sharmin Lopa and its Publicity and Publication Secretary Habibur Rahman Romel.
