The Olericulture Division of the Horticultural Research Center of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) arranged a field day on summer tomato cultivation at Kunia village under Netrakona Sadar Upazila on Saturday. Chief Scientific Officer of the Olericulture Division Dr Ferdousi Islam, BARI Director General Dr Abul Kalam Azad, Member of the reserved seats of National Parliament Habiba Rahman Khan MP, Director , Horticultural Research Center, Dr Abida Khatun and Netrokona Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Sabina Yasmin were present on the occasion , says a press release.

A Doa Mahfil and discussion session was held on the occasion of the 44th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman organised by Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) at BUET Central Auditorium on Saturday . The programme was Chaired by Prof Dr Saiful Islam, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of BUET. Prof Dr Kazi Shahidullah, Chairman, Bangladesh University Grants Commission delivered his speech as Chief Guest. Prof Dr Kazi Shahidullah, in his speech highly appreciated the leadership role of Bangabandhu in building the foundation of our country. VC of BUET Prof. Dr. Saiful Islam in his speech discussed the life and works of Bangabandhu and his contributions . On this occasion, Prof Dr Muhammad Mahbubul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof Dr. Khandaker Shabbir Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Prof Dr. Pran Kanai Saha, Dean, Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ijaz Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Prof. Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Director, Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), BUET also spoke about of Bangabandhu throughout his life. The function was conducted by Prof. Dr. S. M.
