Jatiya Adibashi Parishad
A discussion jointly organised by different organisations including Jatiya Adibashi Parishad, Bangladesh Adibashi Forum and Sahebganj-Bagdafarm Bhumi Uddhar Sangram Committee was held in the auditorium of Women Voluntary Association in the city’s Dhanmondi. In the programme held recently the speakers urged the government and other authority concerned to return the contractual acquisition land of Sahebganj-Bagdafarm in Gaibandha to the real owners. They called upon all the indigenous people of Sahebganj-Bagdafarm area in Gaibandha to be united to materialize their demands.
Bangabandhu Society
A discussion on ‘Protest Against Repression on Women and Children’ organised by Bangabandhu Society was held at Maulana Akram Khan Hall of the Jatiya Press Club. In the programme held recently the speakers called upon all to be united against repression on women and children. They also urged the government to take necessary steps against sexual harassment of women and children. The leaders of the society demanded exemplary punishment to those involved in these heinous crimes. General Secretary of the society Dr SA Malek presided over the event. The function was addressed, among others, by former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique and central leaders of the organisation.
