A discussion marking the arrest of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina on July 16 in 2007 organised by Swapno Foundation was held at the Jatiya Press Club. AL Acting General Secretary Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif was present as the chief guest in the programme held on Wednesday. While speaking Hanif urged the BNP leaders to free their leader Begum Khaleda Zia through legal battle instead of threatening to wage movement. AL was born through movement and struggle. So, giving threats of movement to AL is ridiculous, he added. Mentioning the arrest of Sheikh Hasina by the caretaker government in 2007, he said there was conspiracy to remove Sheikh Hasina from politics.
