Pashe Darao Protibandhi Kalyan Samity
A discussion on ‘Our Role for the Welfare of Disabled’ organised by Pashe Darao Protibandhi Kalyan Samity was held in Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad Auditorium in the city’s Topkhana Road on Tuesday. In the programme the speakers urged the government and affluent section of the society to stand beside the disabled. They said disabled are not the burden of the society if they (Disabled) are guided and educated properly with sympathy. Convener of the organisation Kamal Hossain Mahmud presided over the event.
Democracy International
A training programme titled ‘Young Leader Fellowship’ organised by Democracy International was held at a hotel in the city. Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Hasan said the Awami League government always welcomes criticism as it helps adopt the right path. Urging all, irrespective of political affiliation, to come forward to build a developed nation, the minister said the Awami League government always believes in establishing a society based on argument and logic. The function was also addressed, among others, by head of the organisation Katie Croake and different party leaders. Democracy International organized the four-month training programme for young political activists of different political parties, including AL, BNP and Jatiya Party. Hasan urged all to work in unison to materialize the dream of Bangabandhu by establishing ‘Sonar Bangla’.
