Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon
A rally organised by different organisations including Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon, Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust, Heritage Creative Council, Blue Planet Initiative and Safe Development Foundation was held at the junction of Mirpur Road and Green Road near Science Laboratory in the city’s Dhanmondi on Wednesday. In the programme the speakers called upon all to be united to protect natural park ‘Arghya’. installed near the Science Laboratory. The function was addressed, among others, by Vice-President of the organisation Syed Abul Maksud, former Adviser to the Caretaker Government Dr Hossain Zillur Rahman, noted cultural personality Ramendu Majumder and General Secretary of Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon Dr Abdul Matin. In the programme the speakers also demanded not to construct multi-storied building there closing the petrol pump.
BD Non-Govt Pry Teachers Assoc
A hunger strike programme organised by Bangladesh Non-Government Primary Teachers Association was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city on Tuesday. In the programme the leaders of the association demanded nationalisation of excluded non-government primary schools. The speakers urged all the authority concerned including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take necessary steps for the nationalization of the excluded primary schools as if they maintain their livelihood easily.
