INCIDIN Bangladesh
An orientation programme on National Plan of Action (NPA) 2018-2022 for government officials was held in the city recently. As per the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act-2012, the NPA has been formulated to smoothly carry out the activities relating to prevention of human trafficking. The event was held to orient the government officials about the roles of each ministry and department regarding implementation of the NPA. The orientation titled “National Plan of Action (NPA) 2028-2022 for Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking” was held at CIRDAP Auditorium in the capital recently. Ferdousi Akhter, Joint Secretary (Political-2) of Public Safety Division of Home Ministry, attended it as Chief Guest. In her speech, Ferdousi Akhter said the NPA has been formulated with a view to achieving certain relevant matters mentioned in SDGs. Different ministries are working in this regard. She directed the concerned officials to discharge their duties properly. Chaired by AKM Masud Ali, executive director of INCIDIN Bangladesh, Mohammad Jahirul Islam, Director (Admin and Dev) of Wage Earners Welfare Board, human rights lawyer Salma Ali, among others, spoke at the event.
 INCIDIN Bangladesh, on behalf of PCTSCN consortium, organized the programme supported by TdH Netherlands. Representatives from different ministries and departments of the government, national and international NGOs and lawyers attended the programme, says a press release.
