A seminar on ‘Agriculture Sector in Proposed Budget for 2019-’20 Fiscal Year’ organised by Bangladesh Agricultural Economists Association was held at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council in the city. Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque was present in the programme held on Thursday as the chief guest. While speaking Razzaque termed the proposed budget as realistic and strongly opposed the attribution of ‘highly ambitious budget’. Noting that the rate of budget implementation under the Awami League (AL) government is 90 percent in recent time. Razzaque said the budget implementation rate of the current fiscal could be known within the next two months. He said food surplus in the country proved what incentives the government had given to the farmers after assuming office in 2009. The function was also addressed, among others, by Planning Minister MA Mannan. President of the association Sajjadul Hassan presided over the event.
