Media Museum Youth Club distributed new clothes among 200 underprivileged children at Tejgaon Railway Colony in the city yesterday, says a press release. The children were very happy to get the new clothes ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Club founder and President MM Badsha, Vice President Momin Ullah , Treasurer Rabiullah , Publicity Secretary Mohammad Shahjalal and executive members Masud Rana , Ruhul Amin Swapan and FM Sajjad were present on the occasion.

Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Sajjadul Hasan on Thursday called upon the students to acquire knowledge to make themselves enlightened and worthy citizens in the country. “You (students) are the future of the country…So, you have to attain knowledge of different fields of education to build an economically advanced country,” he told at the stipend money distribution function among meritorious students in Netrakona public hall here. Netrakona Foundation organized the function for distributing stipend money amounting to taka 16 lakhs among 400 university level poor and meritorious students of the district. Chaired by deputy commissioner Netrakona Main-UL-Islam, the function was addressed, among others, by prominent writer and Ekushey Padak winner Professor Jatin Sarker, chairman of Netrakona Zila parishad Prasanta Kumar Ray, chairman of Netrakona Sadar upazila parishad professor Tapsiruddin Khan and mayor of Netrakona pourasava Nazrul Islam Khan. Sazzadul said the government has taken different initiatives to impart quality education to create human resources for building an economically advanced Bangladesh. “The new generation should be given global standard education to build them as competent citizens of the country,” he added.
