Garment Sramik Trade Union Kendra
A rally orgasnised by Garment Sramik Trade Union Kendra was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club. In the programme the leaders of the organisation demanded payment of arrear salaries and festival bonus of all garment employees immediately. The event was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the organisation Joly Talukder, its Executive President Kazi Ruhul Amin, President of Rana Plaza Sramik Union Imdadul Islam and President of its Kaliakoir Regional Committee Aminul Islam. President of the organisation Advocate Montu Ghosh presided over the function.
Julio-Curie Bangabandhu Shanti Sangsad
A discussion on the occasion of ‘Bangabandhu Peace Award-2019’ giving ceremony organised by Julio-Curie Bangabandhu Shanti Sangsad was held at the seminar hall of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh marking the 46 years of Bangabandhu’s receiving of the Julio-Curie award. Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was present as the chief guest in the programme held recently. While speaking Hasan called for following the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in establishing peace and equity in society. The minister said after the Liberation War, Bangabandhu was taking ahead the war-ravaged country towards economic progress. Water Resources Management and Climate Change Expert Prof Dr Ainun Nishat was given the Bangabandhu Peace Award-2019. The function was also addressed, among others, by AL Advisory Council Member Mozaffar Hossain Paltu, Ekattor Television Chief Editor Mozammel Babu. President of the organisation Engr Kabir Ahmed Bhuiyan presided over the event.
