Krishak-Khetmajur Sangram Parishad
A rally organised by Krishak-Khetmajur Sangram Parishad was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Wednesday to meet its various demands including adequate compensation to the affected farmers caused by cyclonic storm ‘Fani’. In the programme the leaders of the parishad also demanded fair price of their products to maintain their livelihoods. They called upon all the farmers to be united to press home their demands. The function was addressed, among others, by President of Bangladesh Krishak Samity SMA Sabur, President of Khetmajur Union Saiful Haque, Assistant General Secretary of Bangladesh Khetmajur Samity Arnab Sarker and President of Samajtantrik Krishak Front Alamgir Hossain Dulal. Coordinator of the parishad Kazi Sazzad Zahir Chandan presided over the event.
Islamic Foundation
Islamic book fair is going on at the Dakshin Chattar of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the city, marking the holy month of Ramzan. The Islamic Foundation has organised the fair inaugurated by State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah on Monday. A total of 62 stalls were set up at the fair compound from where people can buy various types of Islamic books including Holy Quran, Tafsir and Hadith on special commission.The fair is open for all from 10 am to 8 pm every day.
