Swadhinata Forum
A rally organised by Swadhinata Forum, Central Committee was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the city. In the programme held recently the speakers demanded unconditional release of BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia and stopping political conspiracy against Tarique Rahman. President of the forum and BNP’s Executive Committee Member Abu Naser Muhammad Rahmatullah presided over the event. The function was addressed, among others, by BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Khondkar Mosharraf Hossain, former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka Universatiy Prof Dr. Emajuddin Ahmed and Joint Secretary General of BNP Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal.
Islamic Foundation
Islamic Foundation organized a discussion and milad mahfil on the occasion of the Historic May Day. Secretary and Acting Director General of the foundation Kazi Nurul Islam presided over the meeting while Dr Maolana Abu Saleh Patowari presented the keynote speech. After the discussion, Maulana Abu Saleh conducted the milad and munajat. Director of the foundation Anisur Rahamn Sarker and eminent Ulemas also joined the function.
