Novoair, one of the local private airlines held a seminar here on aviation safety to discuss about its flight safety measures with officials of its own and Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB). CAAB member operation and planning Air Commodore Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman and principal operations inspector Captain Fariduzzaman took part from CAAB side while Novoair Managing Director Mofizur Rahman was in the chair at the seminar held on Wednesday, a press release said here on Thursday. Mofizur Rahman said Novoair always gives top priority to flight Safety and not hesitate to invest for safety assurance. CAAB officials lauded Novoair for establishing unique safety culture throughout the airline. During the seminar, department heads of the airlines presented their ongoing activities and plans to ensure flight safety. Deputy Managing Director of Novoair Feroz Alam, Directors Syed Moinul Haq and Hasibur Rashid and Chief Financial Officer Arshad Jamal also spoke while Chief of Safety, Captain Ashfaq-ur-Rahman Khan moderated the seminar.

National Integrity Strategy and Annual Performance Agreement

Academics and think-tanks at a discussion urged all concerned to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to transform the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) into an entity of generating more skilled human resources. “Generating competent workforce is the precondition to foster the country’s economic condition through facing the existing challenges,” said Professor Shah Nowaz Ali, Member of University Grants Commission (UGC). He was addressing a daylong workshop styled “National Integrity Strategy and Annual Performance Agreement” at the conference hall of RUET here yesterday as the chief guest. Chaired by RUET Vice-chancellor Prof Rafiqul Islam Sheikh, the workshop was addressed by UGC Secretary Dr Md Khaled and Director of Strategic Planning and Quality Assurance Cell Dr Sultan Mahmud Bhuiyan as special guests. It was also addressed, among others, by UGC Deputy Director Mouli Azad and Senior Assistant Directors Rabiul Islam and Nazrul Islam and RUET Registrar Dr Selim Hossain and Deputy Director (Students Welfare) Mamun Or Rashid. Professor Shah Nowaz also urged the university authority to properly utilize the public money and put emphasis on developing the nation through providing quality education. He told the meeting that 40 public universities of the country including RUET signed the Annual Performance Agreement with UGC for the current fiscal year under the Performance Management Framework Policy of the government on July 8 last year.
