Samajtantrik Mahila Forum
A rally jointly organised by Samajtantrik Mahila Forum and Communist Party of Bangladesh, Central Women Cell was held in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Thursday. In the programme the leaders of the organisations condemned killing of Nusrat Jahan Rafi. They also demanded capital punishment to those involved in this heinous crime including Sirajuddoula. The event was addressed, among others, by General Secretary of the forum Engineer Shampa Basu, Secretary of the CPB Central Committee Joly Talukder, Organising Secretary of the forum Dilruba Nuri, leader of Samajtantrik Mahila Forum, Dhaka Mahanagar Ruksana Afroz Asha and President of Sramajibi Nari Moitree Bahni Shikha Jamali. CPB central leader and member of its women cell Comrade Maksuda Akhter Laily presided over the function.
Nagorik Udyog
A rally jointly organised by different organisations including Nagorik Udyog, Work for a Better Bangladesh Trust, Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon, Doctors for Health & Environment and Dhaka Youth Club International was held in front of the National Museum in the city’s Shahbagh. In the programme held recently the speakers demanded relocation of chemical warehouses from the residential areas in the old city. They also demanded to implement 17-point plan of 2010. The speakers also demanded for ensuring planned and safe city. The function was addressed, among others, by Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon Iqbal Habib and Chief Executive of Nagorik Udyog Zakir Hossain.
